About
Candace Hennekens is a Wisconsin writer, poet, and artist. She has written fourteen books, numerous essays, many poems, and when employed, edited newsletters for businesses as well as non-profits. She lives on the Eau Claire River, which gives her constant inspiration and a desire to simply sit and watch the river flow by. Even when frozen by winter, the river still speaks as she watches snow build up or the freezing-thawing cycle.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, she is the daughter of a seed corn salesman and an English teacher. She attended Northwestern University, Evanston, Il where she earned a B.S. in Journalism. She has a Masters degree from Cardinal Stritch University, Milwaukee, WI, in Management Science. She has lived in Chicago, Las Vegas, and Davenport, IA. She returned to Wisconsin in 1977. She is the proud mother of two daughters and four grandchildren. Her art is widely shown in the area as well as regionally, and is available through etsy. |
